About Me

I am a lawyer and an experienced Executor. For over 20 years I have provided legal advice to clients big and small across a wide range of industries. Over my last 10 years in practice I worked at the Law Society of Ontario, the body that regulates lawyers in the Province. In that role, as court appointed trustee, I seized and wound-up law practices. As in estate administration, I gathered volumes of documents and property and secured funds; then sorted, organized and distributed that property and funds to beneficiaries. I refined those skills while navigating the lawyers’ sensitive and, often, difficult personal and professional relationships.  

When my father passed away, I was his Executor. Despite my experience and training, I found the administration of his Estate to be more challenging than I had anticipated. I met many other Executors along they way who shared similar difficulties. I spoke with lawyers, accountants, bank managers, financial advisers, jewelers, real estate agents, and funeral directors. Too frequently, all of them encounter Executors struggling to reinvent the wheel of estate administration.  Each conversation was nearly identical: if only there was a service that provided hands-on guidance to executors from start to finish, linking them to the service providers they need, and helping them tackle the administrative tasks along the way.

The nearer I came to the end of the administration of my father's estate, the clearer it became to me that my education, training and experience have equipped me well for this role.  And that is how my business came to be. I am not an estate lawyer, no. Lawyers are busy enough servicing the strictly legal aspects of estate administration.  I have removed my formal lawyer’s hat in starting this law-adjacent business to provide hands-on consulting services to Executors.  I am here to help you honour your loved one’s wishes, while bridging the challenges along the way.
